Liquid Penetrant Testing Chemicals
Liquid penetrant testing can be applied to the surface inspection of almost every materials regardless of their properties. LPT is based on the simple rule called capillary phenomenon. The penetrant penetrates into the narrow gapped defect, and the defect shall be fulfilled with the penetrant. Then the fulfilled penetrant shall be taken up from the defect to the surface by developing material and its spreads around the defect on the surface.
Usually, LPT materials are composed of penetrant, developer and remover. The process shall be pre-cleaning, apply penetrant, remove excess penetrant, developing, inspect the surface and post cleaning. There are two kinds of penetrant those are dye penetrants and fluorescent penetrant. Developer shall be three kinds; those are dry, aqueous and non-aqueous. Remover shall be used for pre-cleaning, penetrant removing and post cleaning.
